2015 Ford Edge is an entirely restyled mid-sized SUV. It is being offered in 4 trim levels, namely, SE, SEL, Sport and Titanium. It competes with Nissan Murano, and Volkswagen Touareg.

It is 188.1 inches long, 75.9 inches wide and 68.6 inches high. The front grille is sliced into a pair of neat hexagonal divisions. Polygonal LED lights and squinted headlamps are other features. The interior is marked by more leg and shoulder space. Ergonomic finesse is highly evident and MyFord infotainment system has buttons for control. 8-inch center console has the Sync system interface. Other features include heated steering, adaptive cruise control, hands-free rear liftgate, and ventilated plus heated front seats.

The vehicle is powered by three engines among which two are optional. The base unit is the improved version of intercooled turbo direct injected 4-cylinder 2.0 liter EcoBoost. It generates 245 horsepower @ 5500 rpms and a torque of 275 lb.-ft. @ 3000 rpms. It can haul up to 3500 lbs. The other engine is 3.5 liter V-6 which has been a little modified to meet the current emission standards. It raises 280 horsepower and a torque of 250 lb.-ft. The third engine is available only on Edge Sport trims. It is company’s latest turbocharged direct-injected twin-turbocharged “Nano” 2.7 liter EcoBoost V-6. It gives more than 315 horsepower and a torque of 350 lb.-ft.
All these three engines are integrated with paddle shifters included 6-speed automatic transmission. Front wheel drive as well as all wheel drive are offered in which the latter is optional.

Mileage is received best with 2.7 liter engine which gives 18/27/21 mpg for city/highway/combined in front wheel and 17/24/20 mpg for all wheel drive. For the 3.5 liter engine, a mileage of 18/26/21 mpg or 17/25/20 mpg is available for front wheel or all-wheel drive respectively. The 2.0 liter engine gives 20/30/24 mpg or 20/28/23 mpg for front wheel or all-wheel respectively.
Price and Release Date
The price of the base model of this car is $28,100 and can reach the value of $40,095 depending on the trim chosen by the buyer. It was released in the summer of 2014 and will be available on the US market in the beginning of 2015.
The redesigned mid-sized SUV has a great looking exterior and a plush, spacious interior. An option of three engines is there each of which promises high performance and fuel-economy. 2015 Ford Edge reaches the US market in early 2015.
