2016 Ford Expedition in its new sixth generation avatar will be a brand new make. It is expected to more classy, sturdy and trendy, maintaining some of its old assets as they are.

Though at the first look the car appears to be boxy, there is a style statement to it, thanks to it chrome grille, redesigned front bumper and well designed angular LED lights. The seats upholstered in soft material are truly comfortable. There would be three rows of windows and five automatic opening doors. The wheels would go up from 18 to 22inches. The car is also expected to be lighter by 200-300 pounds, due to the use of aluminum in the wheels and in many other parts of the car.
On the interior, the car will be capable of accommodating eight passengers. There will be three rows, making the car a large one. There will be many other latest features like Bluetooth and USB ports, and a routing paired with LCD display. It has the signature MyFord touch infotainment system of 4.2 inches coupled with ten speaker audio systems from Sony.
Engine and Mileage of 2016 Ford Expedition
There are eight trim level options that are available- XLT, XLT EL , Limited, Limited EL, King Ranch, Platinum, King Ranch EL, and Platinum EL. These trim levels with not have separate engines. The old 5.4L V8 is going to be replaced by a V6 EcoBoost engine 3.6 liter, direct injection and twin turbo powered. This will not only give up to 365 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, but also offer good fuel economy by reducing the average consumption. There will be an option of rear wheel drive for all the models and there will also be six speed automatic transmissions. The mileage will be 16/22 mpg with the base RWD and 4WD would lower it slightly to 15/20mpg.
Price and Release Date
The prices will totally be dependent on the trim levels. The base model will be priced around $42,000 whereas the topmost cost, $610,000, will be that of the Platinum EL model. There are no confirm dates about the release of this one, but speculations are being made that it would be out by mid 2015.
The box like look of the car is highly attractive to make it unnoticeable. With the specifications and its excellent fuel economy, Ford has come up with yet another beast in its range of sturdy cars, the 2016 Ford Expedition.
