2015 Ford Transit promises to offer substantiality rather than gimmick. It is tough as a cargo van should be, offering great convenience to the driver. It is easy to drive even when it has loads of passengers or items.

Exterior / Interior of 2015 Ford Transit
The van rests on 129.9 inches wheelbase. It is 219.9 inches long, 81.3 inches wide and 83.5 inches high. Variable intermittent wipers, sliding side doors and 16 inches steel wheels are standard. It has a unibody construction, as the company claims, which makes it lightweight. The rails in the front, side and rear have been welded robustly to the cross members, torque boxes, and floor pan. It is stronger than the vans constructed on steel-on-frame model. It is available in three roof heights and a choice can be made between van and wagon models with the latter having an extended capacity for passengers and cargo.

Take an inside look and the obvious emotion is of delight. It has seating for two. The seats appear highly friendly with a pleasing cover of fabric or leather. If a choice of the rear camera is made, the vehicle is very easy for parking and mounting a trailer. MyFord Touch infotainment system offers full-fledged information delivery making the van very attractive for the driver. Clock, tachometer and low-fuel level warning are standard. For entertainment, AM/FM stereo, 2 speakers and auxiliary audio input is there.

Engine and Mileage
It is fitted with DOHC 3.7 liter V6 flex-fuel (ffv) engine with the power of 275 horses @6000 rpm and torque of 260 lb-ft @4000 rpm and 3.5 liter V6 twin-turbocharged EcoBoost that gives 310 hp and 400 lb-ft torque or a diesel model, which is 3.2 liter Power Stroke inline-5 turbocharged giving 185 horsepower and torque of 350 lb-ft. All the powertrains are integrated to 6-speed automatic transmission with rocker-switch manual shift control.

The mileage offered by the van is 14/19 mpg for city/highway. It is 19 percent more efficient than the one offered by the E-series.
Price and Release Date of 2015 Ford Transit
The cargo van is available at the base price of $30,000 that is definitely expensive than the outgoing E-series and a ProMaster. If premium packages are chosen, the cost will touch $50,000 at the most.
Though the vehicle does not appear any different in terms of looks, it does cut a mark in fuel-saving, efficiency and interior comfort. It meets the expectations of a cargo van/wagon to the hilt with its comfortable seating and space. 2015 Ford Transit gives a tough competition to Sprinter for being cheap and smart.
